E-5: Professional Employment Visa

Validity Period: Depends on the contract signed with the employing company

Eligibility: Various fields are included in the E-5 Visa. These are:

  • Aircraft Pilot
  • Doctor
  • Intern or staff within the Medical Field
  • Specialist in operating a tourist ship
  • Captain of a Vessel
  • Lawyer
  • Architect 
  • Accountant

  • Application form
  • Passport Valid for the validity period of the contract (Original and Copy of Biopage)
  • Passport size Photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
  • Resume or CV (Curriculum Vitae) 
  • Copy of Academic Credentials/Qualification
  • Original Assignment Letter/ Contract
  • Proposed Job Description
  • Certificate of Confirmation of Visa Issuance (CCVI)
  • Health Certificate
  • Application Fee
  • Certificate of Incorporation /Copy of Corporate Registration
  • Certificate of registration under Foreign Investment Promotion Act or the report of the company
  • Previous years certificate of payment of taxes
  • Financial statement for the previous year
  • Details of foreign employees working in the company currently
  • The letter of Invitation issued to the candidate
  • Letter of financial guarantee from the company

 

The applicant might also be asked to submit additional documents. Requirements might also vary according to your home country, so please check with the Korean embassy or Immigration Office for more detailed information.

 

How to Apply: 

Step 1: Obtain the Certificate of Confirmation of Visa Issuance (CCVI)

Before starting the visa application, the applicant must obtain a CCVI from the Ministry of Justice in Korea. This is usually handled by the company sponsoring the applicant. This process usually takes between 1~4 weeks.

Step 2: Submit your visa application 

Once the applicant has obtained the CCVI, fill in the application form and bring all the required documents to the Korean Embassy or Consulate or Immigration Office. 

Step 3: Pay the Visa Fee

Step 4: Visa Collection

The Korean Embassy/Immigration Office will either assign a date or contact you when to come back and collect the visa if it is approved.
