All foreign students holding D-2 visas can work part-time jobs only after they apply for a part-time employment permit (which used to be known as an S-3 visa).
You are eligible to apply if you have:
-Grade Score: Average grade of C(2.0) or above, of the previous semester.
-Korean Language Ability:
(Undergraduate School) TOPIK level 3 or above
(Graduate School) TOPIK level 4 or above
English Track: TOEFL 530(CBT 197, iBT71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600
*If the language requirement is not met, the working hours are limited up to: Undergraduates 10 hours, Graduate students 15 hours
*Requirement will be waived for students from countries where mother tongue or official language is English
Process of getting a work permission:
- Check if you are eligible to work part-time during your studies
- Find a part-time job in an allowed field
- Go to your school office and get
- Reserve a visit to a Immigration office and prepare your documents.
- Apply for a work permission (online application is possible)
- Once you get permission, you can start working.
Required documents:
-Passport and a copy of it
-Residence Card (previously known as ARC) and a copy of it
-Application form (basic visa application form)
-Confirmation Form from your school (signed by both: school and employer)
-University transcript
-Business registration document (prepared by the company)
-Signed work contract
-TOPIK or IELTS/TOEFL certificate
