Foreign nationals should be issued a visa to stay in Korea and enter the country. A visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Korea will allow entry without a visa. If you are not a foreigner, you will need a visa suitable for immigration purposes when you stay for a single day. Foreigners can stay within the limits of their status of residence and period of stay, and if they intend to work while staying in Korea, they will have a status of residence that allows them to work. The status of residence that can be employed is as follows.

Short-term employment, professor, conversational guidance, research, technical guidance, occupation, performing arts, specific activities, non-professional employment, seafarer employment, residence, foreign residents, permanent residence, marriage immigration, tourism employment
Employment other than the above qualifications is not possible, and there is no illegal employment, placement or solicitation of foreigners.


Foreign work visa

Except for doctors, aircraft pilots, professors, research, and painting instruction, if you want to work in a profession designated by the Secretary of Justice, you must issue an E7 visa (specific activity). Currently, there are 85 E7 visa profession types, and job-specific education, career requirements, and employment company requirements are separately defined.
After hiring a specialized foreign worker in an area where hiring is required by a domestic company that is an employment company, or an employment contract is concluded.
If you apply for a visa or apply for a change of status of residence under the assumption that an employment contract has been concluded, the Legal Affairs Department will examine the disqualification of an employment company with a foreigner and decide whether to permit it.
If you are applying for a visa, a foreigner is staying in your home country or a third country, you are applying for a permit to change your status of residence, or you are a legal resident who has registered as a foreigner.
However, depending on the type of job, you may need to apply for a visa instead of applying for permission to change your status of residence. In addition, when applying for permission to change the status of residence, it is possible for foreigners who have not registered as aliens to enter the country without visas, but for some occupations, they must apply for a visa.


Conditions for Issuing a Foreign Visa

Basic requirements for foreigners
Master's degree or higher
For bachelor's and degree holders, a one-year career in the relevant field is mandatory.
If you want to work irrespective of your major, you must have a 5-year career in the relevant field.
If you are not a university graduate, your major must be relevant to the relevant field.
Employment manufacturer basic requirements
Applied the employment rate of the people (The ratio of five people to one foreigner employment)
It does not apply to all of 85 occupations.
